“Earlier people were happy with fewer things. Nowadays people are unhappy, unhealthy and have become dishonest, which pains me a lot, I just want people to be happy, healthy and peaceful”

Under the guidance of his Guru Omkaranand Goswami, child Shivananda took yoga practice and spirituality as the ultimate goal of his life at the age of six. At this very young age he also took a resolution to lead a completely sattvic life. Simultaneously, remembering his poor parents who had died of hunger, Shivanand took a bold resolution to eat only half stomach and that too simple food for life. Even today Baba Shivanand Swamiji Maharaj follows this.

Later, in the year 1925, following the orders of his Guru, the 29 year old young Brahmachari Shivananda, traveled extensively in different countries across the globe on a noble mission of spreading the message of yoga and healthy life.

He is not married, made vow of brahmacharya (celibacy) and dedicated his live to serve humanity.
