7 Chakras in Human Body and Their Significance

In order to grow in yoga practice, you need to understand what energy processes happen inside and outside you. It states health condition, bad or good habits and other.
Chakra in Sanskrit means ‘wheel, circle, vortex’. Chakras – it is energy centers in our energy body (pranic body, non-physical body).
In the classical yoga system, there are 7 main chakras. They are based near our spine. According to Hatha Yoga Pradipika, in our energy body there are at least 72 000 energy channels, or nadis. Chakras are places where a lot of nadi energy channels connect in one place. Those chakras make an impact on our physical body, mind, and intellect. Lower chakras are responsible for gross, material states of being. Higher chakras are responsible for more subtle levels of being.
If a person who practices yoga has material desires, wishes, then energy in nadi channels cannot flow freely, and yoga practices help to purify those channels.
All chakras have positive and negative sides, aspects. If we want to grow in our yoga practice, we should develop positive aspects and clean negative ones. In society there are a lot of negative energies (tendencies) that attract the lowest desires and actions.
If your consciousness works on the lowest chakras, your attitude, actions, and thoughts become based on basic instincts.
There are 7 chakras:
1) Muladhara.
2) Svadhisthana.
3) Manipura.
4) Anahata.
5) Vishuddhi.
6) Ajna.
7) Sahasrara.

Let’s take a look into the attributes of every chakra.
1) Muladhara chakra.Personal security, supply basic needs: food, place to live. An individual fights the world to survive.
2) Svadhisthana.Seek personal pleasures and sensations through food, drinks, sex.
3) Manipura.Person attempts to dominate situations and other people. Seeks to manipulate the world according to personal wishes, gain, wealth, respect.
4) Anahata.Love and understand people as they are, begin to accept people.
5) Vishuddhi.Logic, rational thinking, and fearlessness. Begins to understand and experience the world as a place of harmony and perfection. Compassion.
6) Ajna.At a subtle level, you see the world fully. Sometimes use subtle energy without understanding the law of karma. For example, inventor creates a bomb or something negative without understanding karmic consequences. Also at this level, person starts creating more positive actions for others and himself in spiritual development. There is no ego, no duality. Can open supernatural powers like clairvoyance, clairaudience. In this level, possible to easily go to samadhi.
7) Sahasrara.Highest state when you connected with your higher self. Also, person can be on a subtle and material level at one time. It’s a state beyond mind, beyond senses, beyond usual reality.
Different chakra means different reality, different world.
At the time of death, in which chakra will energy be, it determines in which world you will enter. The cleaner your nadis and chakras, the higher level of consciousness you can achieve.
