What is Karma and How Does It Work

1) Then you create your future.
2) You can understand why situations happen in your life.
We all should make decisions in life, and it depends on what moral principles we live by, it will have different consequences for us and for other people.
Person who are responsible for his actions, will live much more conscious and moral life. He will not do any bad things to other beings. And a person who thinks that everything is coincidences probably can do something to harm others.
What is karma
Karma in Sanskrit means ‘action’.
Buddhist sutra about the Law of Karma: “Everything that you do will return back to you. Everything that happens with you – fair reward.”
So whatever you do for others in life, you get the same back. It’s the principle of boomerang, the principle of action and reaction. You reap what you sow. You give an apple, you get back an apple. You give a bad word, you get a bad word.
Law of Karma directly related with reincarnation principle.
Why do we need karma? When we get back our karma, we can understand if we did good actions for others and make a decision if it was good or not. So karma is not a punishment, it allows for us to understand on our own experience the consequences of our actions that we did to others. By making good decisions, we grow.

How fast does karma come back
Karma can be:
1) Instant.
2) Delayed.
3) Very delayed.
It depends on the energy that people are – sattva, rajas or tamas.
When you are in sattva (inner harmony), then karma comes very fast, and you see the chain that you did an action and it gave you a reaction.
When you are in rajas (active energy), then karma can come back in 40 years, and it will be hard to understand that this exact action gave such consequences.
When you are in tamas (energy of ignorance), then karma can come back in future lives, and it will be hard to understand that this exact action gave such consequences.
If something happens in our life, there can be 2 reasons:
1) It’s the result of our past lives.
2) It’s our future.
Do for others whatever you want to get back. Karma is very cruel for egoists (people who are selfish) and very fair for people who strive to grow and work with themselves by developing good inner qualities and purity.
Both good and bad karma are temporary, so it has its limits.
The Law of Karma is very important for people who practice yoga.
